Family Reading Centres

Family Reading CentreBetter Beginnings supports our library partners to establish Family Reading Centres and to promote the parent resources within their collections.

All public library have within their collections a range of resources from books, audios and video resources to pamphlets and magazines to support parents throughout parent hood.

Parent Resources include:

Family Reading Centres include print and multi-media resources for parents, caregivers and early childhood professionals as well as books, toys, videos and computers for children. A number of Family Reading Centres have been able to be established in some public libraries through funding from the State Government’s Early Years Strategy.

These Family Reading Centres aim to bring together resources for parents and for children in one place within the public library making it easier for young families to browse for resources with activities and toys close by to entertain their children.
