Read, play and learn together online!

Better Beginnings and the State Library of Western Australia provide access to a number of great online resources for kids.
These are free with your local WA public library card or State Library card!

NOTE: To ensure WA families have access to the highest quality resources to support family literacy, there will be some changes to the eResources available through public libraries and the State Library of WA.

Clients who have previously enjoyed TumbleBooks and Literacy Planet, please note that the SLWA subscriptions for these will be ending this year. TumbleBooks will be available until 31 October and Literacy Planet will be available until 30 November. 

We are excited to continue to provide Busy Things and Story Box Library for all WA families to access from home or at your public library, and all you need is a public library or State Library membership card.


Learning with Busythings has never been so silly! Discover a fun world with over 150 activities. Great for school readiness and younger ones starting out with online learning. 

Get ready to learn with Literacy Planet, a comprehensive literacy resource for ages five +. With this resourc e you can target specific learning areas. 
The Story Box Library is a beautiful online reading room, a place where the wonderful world of Australian children's literature comes to life as stories are read for children via video clips. Enjoy listening to e-Audiobooks by downloading these  onto your own devices to listen anywhere anytime. If you are a State Library member, you may log in to Borrowbox here. If you are a WA Public Library member please login using the BorrowBox link on your WA Public Library website or use the BorrowBox app on your device to select your local library and login.
The OverDrive eReading Room just for kids provides a safe and easy e-Book borrowing experience for families with a WA library membership. Enjoy reading Caterpillar and Butterfly online by Ambelin Kwaymullina.
