We believe that literacy transforms lives.

Reading is an essential life skill and it plays a critical role in shaping the opportunities we have throughout our lives.  

Better Beginnings is Australia's most extensive family literacy initiative.  Designed and developed by the State Library of Western Australia, Better Beginnings is delivered right across Western Australia and builds literacy skills through fostering a love of books and language.
