Books-To-Go with Better Beginnings

Books-To-Go is part of the Better Beginnings Creating Books in Communities program which encourages children and families to engage with books and stories by creating their own.

Better Beginnings has been working with communities and children to capture their stories about their homes, families, pets and communities.  Eight books have been published so far in partnerships with different communities throughout Western Australia. Books-To-Go in the Book Cubby

Books-To-Go is for children and families to learn all about making and publishing a book. Using one piece of paper and a few simple folds, you can create your own 8 page book without having to stick or staple.  Every child can be an author - you can write and illustrate your very own stories. The books are published on the spot using a colour photocopier and the author gets to keep  their original book. A copy travels in the Book Cubby to other communities for other children to read, enjoy and be inspired by.

If you would like to try your hand at making your own book, you can download our template. There is also a simple step-by-step guide in pictures to help you learn the paper folds.
