Now your child is four...

Even though your child may have started kindergarten, you are still you child’s most important teacher. Sharing books and reading aloud together is a wonderful way to give your child the best possible start at school.

You can help your child enjoy reading by:
• Reading aloud together every day
• Talking about the story and the pictures
• Choosing books together

Visit your library!
You and your child can borrow books, CDs, DVDs, magazines and more – and it’s free to join.  Some libraries also provide free school holiday activities.  Many libraries have Better Beginnings Discovery Backpacks, containing puppets and picture books for families to borrow. Here’s some suggestions for great books for children aged 4 & 5 that you can borrow from your local library.
