In November 2021, Better Beginnings launched the Little Fulla Yarns reading pack to support Aboriginal families living in remote communities to Read, Yarn, Sing, Draw and Play every day with their bub. This program is currently being rolled out to remote communities across the Kimberley and Pilbara regions.

Little Fulla Yarns is distributed through public libraries, health services and early years community organisations working closely with families living in remote communities. Our Little Fulla Yarns distributors support families as their child's first teacher to build on their early literacy skills with bub.

The Little Fulla Yarns reading pack has been developed in line with two-ways educational models, in consultation with communities, Aboriginal early years educators and early literacy experts at the State Library of Western Australia.

As we continue to expand the Little Fulla Yarns program across Western Australia in 2024, we are looking for local community organisations to work with us to support the delivery of early literacy to families living in remote regions. The Little Fulla Yarns reading pack is free for all Aboriginal families with children aged 0-5 years living in the Kimberley and Pilbara.
